Daphne turns one year old!

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

Charlotte and Andrew planned a big celebration at the park for Daphne’s first birthday.

A bright and interested little girl!

We had a great time even though some of the family were late (including me). They prepared lots to eat and everyone participated, bringing salads and other parts of the dinner.

An excited girl with her grandma.

Daphne seemed to know that something special was happening. We had baked chicken, salads, chips, drinks, fruit, and of course, Birthday Cake!

A new experience - eating cake and icing!

Daphne got her own cake and for the first time found out what that gooey icing tastes like. At first she got it on her hands and didn’t know what to do, but as soon as she tasted it she was happy to be eating the cake with her hands, not just playing with this “stuff”.

Andrews parents and brother joined us - Daphne's other grandparents and an uncle.

She was unhappy with her gifts only because she wanted to play with a few of them but had to open others and did not understand. We think her favorite gift was a ball she got from her other grandparents.

A Last Goodbye for a while

Robyn and Eric came over to see us before they were to leave for their trip back home to Ohio tonight. The girls were all together for the first time since Charlotte was married so we thought we needed to take a few pictures to remember the day.

Six Sisters all together again!

Here are the ones we felt were the best.

Six sisters all together again - again!

It was so nice to see all the girls together at one time again. They are all such good people and we are very proud of them. Of course we are their parents, so why shouldn’t we be proud of them? They are our children!
